Peppermint essential oil has stomachic, carminative, cholagogue and antispasmodic properties. It is useful in cases of flatulence, indigestion, colitis, diarrhea, spasms, dyspepsia and almost all disorders related to the digestive system.
Antibacterial: the antibacterial properties of peppermint have been found to be particularly effective in neutralizing various bacterial strains, responsible for typhoid (Herbert) and tuberculosis (Koch’s bacillus); against staphylococcus and proteus vulgaris, causing enterocolitis and urinary tract infections. Peppermint essential oil has antiseptic and antipyretic properties that are beneficial in cases of colds and influenza, fever, stomatitis and aphthae.
